Mike Price started training in traditional Taekwondo in 1984. Since that time Mike has earned 4 black belts in different martial arts: a 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 2nd Degree Black Belt in American Karate/Kickboxing, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kung Fu, and a 5th Degree Black Belt in Aiki Tora Ryu (A.T.R.) Aikido and is a certified instructor in International Combative Survival Tactics (ICST).
Mike has also competed in Kickboxing, Muay Thai and grappling. Mike placed 2nd overall in the Pan Am NAGA Florida Championships and 2nd overall in open weight class master division, fighting opponents 50 to 100 pounds heavier than him. He also won two light-heavyweight championships in American kickboxing and competed in the first four Battle Of Tampa Bay American Invitational Kickboxing Championships. Mike came out of a 9-year retirement at the age of 40 and won the Florida State Muay Thai light heavyweight championship by TKO in the 2nd round.
However, Mike’s most proud accomplishments are training his students to reach champion status. Many students of his have won championships in grappling and kickboxing. One of his students was even ranked #1 in the entire United States in submission grappling in her division! All of his students that have competed in grappling tournaments have placed in the top 3, beating out students from much larger schools.
Mike’s been teaching martial arts since 1986 and opened his own school in 2004 and continues to actively teach and train alongside his students in class.
Mike also runs Duck Whisperer Animal Rescue which rescues and gives sanctuary to all kinds of animals. He is a music composer who plays many different instruments and sings in several bands. He has a huge collection of retro-gaming consoles. He also has a huge collection of Transformers toys from his childhood that he’ll probably never part with.
